PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY
A program must have been in continuous operation for at least two full years and have had encounters with at least 50 violently injured patients annually. To apply for program membership, please follow the steps below:

Complete the online HAVI Member Application
Applications are reviewed at select times of the year and subject to board approval. There is one application window. Please refer to the membership application form for details.
Annual fee: Member programs pay an annual fee of $550.
Two years of mentoring from an experienced program
Listing as a HAVI member program on our website
Increased program visibility and affiliation with a national professional network
Discounted rate to attend The HAVI’s annual conference and frontline worker stipend (subject to availability)
Participation in learning communities and working groups related to communication, mental health, policy, research and evaluation, and workforce development
The opportunity to become a technical assistance provider for new and emerging programs (The HAVI manages a technical assistance clearinghouse)
EMERGING PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY
This membership category is designed for hospital-based or hospital-linked programs that are working on bringing their program to scale, particularly in relation to level of staffing and general infrastructure, scope and degree of program services provided, and number of clients served.
A program must be active for at least one year and have had encounters with at least 20 violently injured patients annually. To apply for emerging program membership, please follow the steps below:

Applications are reviewed at select times of the year and subject to board approval. There is one application window. Please refer to the membership application form for details.
Annual fee: Emerging Member programs pay an annual fee of $350.

ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY
Organizational membership requirements:
Must be an organization actively involved in violence intervention and prevention work
Must submit an organizational membership application and be approved by a majority vote of the advisory board
To apply, please complete the HAVI Organizational Membership Application.
Annual fee: Organizational members pay an annual membership fee determined by organizational budget amount (but no less than $550).

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY
This membership category is open to current undergraduates and graduate students interested in violence prevention/intervention. To apply:

NATIONAL ADVISOR MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY
National advisory membership requirements:
Open to people who are not affiliated with a HAVI member but are respected leaders in the field
Must be nominated by The HAVI’s advisory board as being uniquely positioned to provide a specific skill or need of the network
Must provide a resume and may be interviewed by the advisory board
Annual fee: There are no annual fees for this category.
Compliance information applies to program members, emerging program members, and organizational members.
Programs can secure basic membership to the HAVI by paying their annual dues. However, that will not make programs eligible for future stipends or other economic incentives. To be eligible for those incentives, programs must be in good standing in the following four requirements:
Pays annual dues
Completes annual survey
Participates in annual program review meeting with HAVI staff (virtual or in-person)
Regularly participates in at least one of the following:
The HAVI working groups
Conference planning committee(s)
Marla Becker Scholarship selection committee
Advisory Board
